Lift top cocktail tables are a lot like lit coffee tables, but many more of these have drawers. A lift cocktail table will usually have more space for storage because of the added drawers, but many, if not most, will have the added shelf space below the top of the table. This added space it great to display items on top of the lift top table, but also on the lower shelf.
Lift top cocktail tables have the versatility of many types of furniture, but also has the ability to raise the top of the table to the desired height. The added height makes these type of table great for eating, writing, and using a laptop. While these lift top cocktail tables are not usually small and light, some have coasters on the bottom, which makes it easier to move around to the needed location.

Lift top coffee tables are a great addition to any home with their flexibility of functionality and style. The main difference in a lift coffee table to a lift cocktail table is that it usually has fewer drawers and is much simpler. Although a lift top coffee table usually doesn't have as much storage space as the cocktail table, they still have some. Many times, they have an under shelf, which is directly below the top of the table and is for storage space.
Like the lift top cocktail table, the coffee table has a top that lifts up to the needed height. These are great for many activities, ranging from eating, drawing, and laptop use. When the added height for the table is not needed anymore, just put it back to the original setting. If you don’t have a lot of money in the bank, its usually pretty difficult to get the things you need for your house. Throw a recession into the mix and you now have a lots of families who are struggling with old and decrepit furniture that not only looks bad but also makes every day living difficult. A proposed government campaign to get those with more money to give away any furniture they do not need or want to those less fortunate may be one effective solution to the problem.
Local events, magazines and radio will all be used to advertise the government’s initiative, which is thought to begin later this year. It is hoped that over a quarter of a million homes will benefit from the idea and Americans will be urged to dig deep. The furniture that is most in demand is white bedroom furniture such as children’s beds, wardrobes and bedside table. Living room furniture is next on the wish list, with items such as couches, coffee tables and lighting being highest in demand.
Some critics have spoken out against the campaign, suggesting that the economy needs people to be spending at the moment rather than recycling old items. The government responded reasonably quickly to these accusations, with the argument that people will not be spending less money on new items, as people from low income families would be unlikely to buy new in the first place. George Yapton, the governments head of consumer spending stated "people will always continue to buy new furniture, we just want to stop it going to waste and instead go towards helping those whole really need it"..
The government has said that all furniture, regardless of condition will be accepted for consideration, including dining furniture, kitchen furniture, bedroom items, really anything that people don’t want.
